We do not accept international returns.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO REPLACE A BROKEN ITEM?
At Lakay, we prioritize your satisfaction with our products. If you've received a damaged or defective item purchased online, please contact our Customer Care team at Hello@seLakay.com within 7 days of receipt to initiate a return or exchange. Include your order number, a description of the issue, clear photos showing the damage or defect upon delivery, and proof of purchase in your email. Once we've confirmed the issue, we'll provide a prepaid return shipping label and arrange for a replacement or refund. For food safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on opened food items unless they were received damaged or defective. We strongly recommend using tracked shipping for all returns, as we are not responsible for returns lost in transit that haven't been communicated to our Customer Care team. Please note that authorized distributors may have different policies, and special considerations apply to our Djondjon paste and Piman "hot chili" pepper sauce. We're committed to resolving any issues promptly and ensuring you have the best possible experience with our products.
WHAT IF I RECEIVED AN ORDER WITH BROKEN ITEMS, MISSING ITEMS, OR MY PACKAGE IS MISSING?
Please contact Customer Care as soon as possible after receiving your delivery or when you notice a package is missing after receiving our delivery confirmation email. For missing packages marked delivered to the address on the order, we require a minimum of 2 business days to file a claim with the carrier before sending a replacement. We are unable to assist with items that arrived broken, missing items, and missing packages outside of the 30-day return/exchange policy time frame and without a photo of the broken items and/or package.

Your satisfaction is important to us. We are happy to refund your purchase price (minus the return label fee) if the return complies with our return policy. You will be issued a prepaid return label by email should you contact us to report that you wish to return an online purchase. We accept returns for products purchased from Lakay Online and for shipment in the United States only, and all returns are inspected upon return.
Products purchased from Lakay Online must be returned in new condition (with original Lakay packaging intact and product unopened) and with an order receipt, within 30 days from date of purchase. Additionally, returns of items that qualified for a free promotional item(s) must be returned with the free promotional item(s) and products that were purchased in value or gift sets must remain in their original packaging with all original products in the value or gift set.
Lakay Online monitors return activity and reserves the right to deny returns that, in its sole discretion, do not meet the return policy requirements, are instances of abuse of our policy, or for items that were re-sent at no cost in a good faith gesture following a report of non-receipt.
For items returned within our returns policy, the purchase price will be refunded to the original form of payment. If the payment was split between a Lakay Online gift card and credit card, debit card, or bank issued gift card, the credit is applied to the credit card, debit card, or bank issued gift card first. If a balance remains to be credited, it will be applied to the Lakay Online gift card.
Please note that we do not refund original shipping costs or gift-wrapping costs. Additionally, items purchased at a discounted price or as part of a value or gift set are not eligible for exchange. Products that were purchased at their full (non-discounted) price may be exchanged with full-price (non-discounted) products that are an identical price, provided that the return of such product complies with this policy.
Special considerations for Lakay products:
- Due to the nature of our food products, we cannot accept returns on opened items for food safety reasons.
- For our Djondjon paste and Piman "hot chili' pepper sauce, we recommend checking the product upon delivery. If there are any issues with sealing, packaging, or apparent quality, please contact us immediately.
- If you receive a product that is damaged during shipping, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photos of the damaged item and packaging.
- For any allergic reactions or adverse effects from our products, please seek medical attention if necessary and contact us immediately. While we cannot accept returns on opened food items, we will address these situations on a case-by-case basis.
- Authorized distributors should refer to their specific agreements for return and exchange policies, as they may differ from our standard consumer policy.
